Can you believe that we are so close to the BIG DAY?!?
I have been trying to post on here for a while, but time doesn't seem to be something I have a lot of lately. Let me try to give you an update of what has been going on: I was desperately trying to find somebody to do my hair and was getting extremely frustrated with the lack of response from some of the area stylists. However, I was able to get in contact with a stylist who came HIGHLY recommended by my DJ, my Photographer and one of my customers at Gordon's. Luckily for me, my wedding date was the only day in April she still had available. I feel so much better now that I have that taken care of. Tom and I had our engagement pictures taken on the 10h and tonight we went through and picked out the ones we'd like to use for our guest signing book. Yay! On the 19th, we met with our coordinator, and some of our vendors for our venue walk through. It was exciting to actually be at the hall and outline all the places for the tables, the bar, and the dance floor. We ordered our cake! From Publix at Tradition. I gave them a basic idea of what I would like to see, but left the overall design up to them. I can't wait to see it, I know it will be beautiful - and yummy! We applied for our marriage license! It was in the paper (tcpalm.com) on the 25th. On the 20th, I had my makeup trial. Linda did great and is on board for the 14th. I also scheduled a facial (my first) for this upcoming Thursday - I have to admit I am kinda excited about that too :) On the 24th, I went to Patti's Bistro in Sebastian for my Bridal Shower. Props to my bridesmaids, friends and family - it was beautiful, the food was delicious and the day was perfect. I brought my camera but took absolutely zero photos. I put a message out to Jessica so hopefully I will have some to post soon. I started my dress alterations, and have my final fitting scheduled for April 6th. We got a lot of cool stuff from Disney to confirm our honeymoon cruise & vacation. We didn't even know, but we are going to be at Epcot during the Int'l Garden & Flower Festival - pretty kewl stuff. We had a final meeting with our DJ and picked out all of our music for the ceremony as well as the reception. All I have to say is that Tom is EXTREMELY excited about our recessional music and I am an AWESOME fiancée (and soon to be wife). On the 30th, Tom and his guys went out for his Bachelor party. I don't know all the details, but I think there was alcohol, laser tag, cake, bowling and mini golf. On the 31st, it was the girl’s turn. While I do know (and remember) all the details, I am only willing the share a few. There were hot men with skewers, lots of pink cocktails, great girlfriends, and “tootsie rolls”. Hehehe I did post some pictures of our adventures. Tonight, Tom and I started working on our seating chart. We also are getting our final numbers to our Vendors. We are still working out the details for the Rehearsal dinner and timelines for the day of. At this point, I believe all of my brideasmaids have their dresses in for alterations, and all of the groomsmen and Tom have been fitted. Mostly, I feel like we have a pretty good handle on everything. But ask me next week, I might not be so calm. -- Jo Ann We got Linens! Yay!! We are sooo excited . .that is one big Monkey off our backs. Actually, we go linens, and water goblets, and chairs for the outside and cover with sashes for the inside and napkins (which are just another form of linen :).
We were making a list of the things we still need to get/arrange, this is what came to mind this evening: 1. Limo/Transportation for the Bridal party 2. Hair & Make Up 3. Groomsmen Gifts 4 Some of the Bridesmaid Gifts (i've ordered most of the pieces) I am sure there is more, but I can't think of them right now. I am just too excited to have the linens taken care of right now! So far we have received 4 RSVPs back. It's like a tiny little Christmas everytime we go to the mailbox . . :)
Today, Tom. and I sat down and ordered some things online for the wedding: Persornalized Waterproof Water Bottle Labels; Printable Tags; Purple mesh favor baskets; and a Lilac Flower girl headpiece.
We are still dealing with the linen fiasco. I have gathered some names and am trying to track down a reasonable cost for linens and outside chairs. I did learn this week that we also have to rent napkins and water glasses/goblets. :( It's getting close and we are trying to get it all finalized and figured out. We have paid for our honeymoon and picked out some neat excursions: (Tom has been asking to pick out excursions since last February) On the first night a we are going to attend an adult only dinner. On day two, we will swim with the dolphins. On the 3rd day, we are getting a couples massage and on the last day we are going kayacking. Should be really really fun! I have been collecting cute vacation Maxi and floral dresses for our trip, but I think I have plenty now! We have scheduled our formal engagement session with Angie Tappen for March 10th at Rock City Gardens. It has not been easy deciding what to wear, but I think we have finally come up with something we both like. We stlll have to call Rock City and get it all set up but I don't think it will be a problem. And! we bought stamps today, A LOT of stamps. ... :) --Jo Ann I am in a linen nightmare. Where to order them from? Should I buy or rent? If I DO buy, how wrinkled are they going to be? I checked into getting them professionally pressed but that cost more then renting or buying. AND! what do I do about the chairs? To cover or not to cover?? Sashes or no sashes? AND I need to rent chairs for the outside ceremony, where do i do that at? It drives me crazy whent I can't figure something out and I have been searching online but I still haven't found the right solution. I put a call into Brenda @ En Vogue Event Planners (our coordinator) to see is she had any ideas or reccommendations. AHHHhhhh!
I know I have talked about them, but I've never actually shared my colors with you. . . so here they are:
